Day 1 - Fly from the UK to Atlanta and collect a car.
Stay three nights in Atlanta and explore the city, including the World of Coca-Cola and the world class Georgia Aquarium. Visit the Georgia State Capitol building, where Ray Charles played when honoured by the state, making his version of ‘Georgia On My Mind’ the official state song. See the house where Margaret Mitchell wrote Gone with the Wind or visit the Martin Luther King Jr. Historic Site. Unwind in Piedmont Park or at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. The city boasts some fantastic restaurants and array of nightlife including plenty of spots where you can find live music.

Day 4 - Drive to Athens, approx. 70 miles
Stay two nights in this University town. The University of Georgia is the birthplace of higher education in America, and its historic North Campus is the setting for some of the oldest buildings in the city, dating back to 1801. The music scene in Athens has produced the likes of R.E.M. and the B-52s, and you can take a walking tour to discover some of the musical routes. The vibrant downtown area is home to some great independent shops and an array of local restaurants, bars and clubs, many with live music.

Day 6 - Drive to Macon, approx. 90 miles
Spend two nights in Macon. Take a walking tour and discover some of Macon’s legendary music history, which was once home to artists like Little Richard, Otis Redding, James Brown and the Allman Brothers Band. Visit the Allman Brothers Museum, the Otis Redding Statue, the Douglas Theater where Otis was discovered and the stunning Grand Opera House where Ray Charles performed. Take a trip on the Antebellum Trail and discover some of the prettiest Southern style homes. Learn more about the Civil War, and the Southern culture.

Day 8 - Return to Atlanta, approx. 90 miles and drop-off your car in time to check in for your flight home.
