| THE MAJORITY OF BRITISH TRAVELLERS CAN CONTINUE TO TRAVEL TO THE USA WITHOUT A VISA | ||||||||||
| Recently we have seen an enormous amount of coverage in the UK media about the changes in USA entry and security regulations - some accurate, some inaccurate and, regrettably, some misleading. The most important message for the majority of UK passport holders is NOTHING HAS CHANGED. The majority of UK visitors to the USA can enter the country without a Visa, under the Visa Waiver Program, which remains unchanged, providing that certain conditions are met. The main requirement is with regard to the type of passport held by the visitor. No UK traveller to the USA will be affected by any changes in the requirement for biometric data in passports - provided that they hold a machine-readable passport that was issued in the UK before 25 October 2005, and is valid at the time of travel. Passports issued between 26 October 2005 and 25 October 2006 must contain a digitally printed photograph on the information page, rather than an original photograph stuck into the passport.
