Day 1 - Pittsburgh
Arrive in Pittsburgh and transfer to your hotel in the centre of the city for 3 nights. Pittsburgh, (formerly a very industrial city) has been transformed into an eclectic city with great museums, art, theatre, music and sports to interest visitors - it is well worth a visit. A visit to the Warhol Museum which honours the work of the famed artist and Pittsburgh native Andy Warhol is a must as is a visit to the Carnegie Museum which houses a remarkable collection of French Impressionist, post Impressionist and American Art. The Carnegie Museum of Natural History has one of the best dinosaur collections in the world. If you enjoy sport, there is nothing better than watching the Pittsburgh Steelers play football at the Heinz Field, the Penguins play ice hockey at the PPG Paints Arena or a Pittsburgh Pirates baseball match at PNC. The city also has many excellent restaurants.

Day 2 and 3 – Explore Pittsburgh


Day 4 - Pick up your rental car from one of the downtown locations and drive to the Laurel Highlands. Approximately 64 miles (1½ hours). 
Stay in the Laurel Highlands for one night. In the beautiful wooded mountains of the Laurel Highlands an absolute must is to visit to Frank Lloyd Wright’s architectural masterpiece, Falling Water which is in a beautiful location with its original furnishings and artwork. Your day would not be complete without a visit to Kentuck Knob another stunning house built by Frank Lloyd Wright which is now owned by Lord Palumbo. Golfers can enjoy a game at Seven Springs Mountain Resort which also has an excellent spa. Ohio Pile close to Falling Water has fantastic white water rafting on class 2 and 3 rapids.

Day 5 - Laurel Highlands to Gettysburg. Approximately 171 miles (3 hours) 
Gettysburg is a charming town and there are many ways to explore the area. To view the battlefields of Gettysburg you can either take a tour on an air-conditioned bus listening to a recorded story, drive your own car with an auto tape tour or hire a Licensed Battlefield Guide to ride with you to explain the three famous days in 1863. There are also self-guided walking tours or walking tours with a park ranger. If none of the above options appeal, you can tour the 40 miles of battlefield roads by bicycle or gallop across the 5,700 acres of field on horseback. To further understand the courage and hardships of the soldiers visit some of the Civil War related museums or take an authentic Civil War house tour by day and a haunted ghost tour by night. Live theatre includes a personal visit with "President Lincoln", Civil War plays and ghost stories. Throughout the year you can talk to the soldiers in encampments and reenactments. When you have had enough history, enjoy a train ride through the beautiful countryside, ride on miniature horses, visit some quaint villages, play a game of golf and quench your thirst at a local brewery or winery.

Day 6 - Gettysburg. At leisure.

Day 7 - Gettysburg to Hershey. Approximately 50 miles (1 hour) 
Chocolate ... chocolate ... and more chocolate! Hersheys Chocolate World has been satisfying cravings for 30 years. The Hershey Company is open daily and always free. You can learn about making chocolate, experience Hershey’s 3D Show, and of course, eat some chocolate! Hershey Park has more than 60 rides with some terrifying rollercoasters! Harrisburg is Pennsylvania’s State Capital and is a 20 minute drive away. Here you can visit the Capitol, there are free guided tours of this striking building with architecture inspired by St. Peter's Basilica and the Paris Opera House.

Day 8 - Hershey to Lancaster. Approximately 29 miles (40 minutes)
A chance to witness a simple way of life and take a refreshing trip back in time. Thousands of Amish and Mennonite residents live around Lancaster. A great way to experience the Amish lifestyle is by train on the Strasburg Railroad. Steam past Amish families in modest dress working the farms of this beautiful region where windmills dot the landscape. Explore the side roads where you will see quaint houses and villages and many folk driving horse and buggies.

Day 9 - Lancaster. At leisure.

Day 10 - Lancaster to Poconos. Approximately 125 miles (2½ hours) 
Drive from Lancaster to Poconos stopping at the beautiful small town of Jim Thorpe with its quaint storefronts, Victorian houses with a backdrop of hillside and trees. You will be staying at Mount Poconos where you can enjoy the beautiful countryside and relax, play golf, hike, play tennis, swim or an indulgent day at the spa.

Day 11 - Poconos. At leisure.

Day 12 - Poconos to New Hope. Approximately 87 miles (1¾ hours). 
Drive down the Delaware Water Gap along the Delaware Canal to New Hope for one night. New Hope is a lovely historic town on the banks of the Delaware River. It has over 200 unique shops, art galleries, antiques stores and restaurants.

Day 13 - New Hope to Philadelphia. Approximately 41 miles (1 hour) 
Drive along Route 30 to Philadelphia drop off your car and transfer to your hotel for 2 nights. Philadelphia is a city with two amazing sides. It is a progressive city alive with the excitement of theatres, symphony halls, museums, restaurants and cafes and it is an historic city where the Declaration of Independence was signed, the Liberty Bell rang out and people such as Ben Franklin, Betsy Ross and John Hancock helped shape America. Here you can take in fascinating history by day and world-class entertainment by night. Walk through the meeting rooms of Independence hall, take a carriage ride by Elfreth’s Alley, dine in style and enjoy the hospitality of this vibrant city.

Day 14 - Philadelphia. At leisure.

Day 15 - Day at leisure before returning to the airport for your flight home.
