Oregon is becoming increasingly well known for its wine and with 15 approved winegrowing regions and more than 500 wineries producing 72 varieties, there is certainly plenty to experience. Blessed with some of the most diverse and beautiful winegrowing landscapes in the world, this world-class wine producing state makes a perfect holiday destination for any wine lover. From the benchlands soaring above the Columbia River Gorge to the Willamette Valley’s green, rolling hills to the high mountain valleys of Southern Oregon, there are some incredible sights to behold-and some incredible wines to taste.

America As You Like It’s Oregon Wine Country Experience will take you through some of the best of the state’s wine as well as its scenery, attractions and people. Enjoy great food, good company and quiet country roads. 

Day 1 - Fly from the UK to Portland 
Spend two nights in this vibrant, cosmopolitan city. It has a host of visitor attractions, in addition to world-class restaurants featuring local produce and wine, unique lunchtime foodcarts and an abundance of microbreweries. 

Day 3 – Portland to Willamette Valley, approx. 40 miles
Running south from Portland, the Willamette Valley is over 150 miles long and over 60 miles wide, and is home to over 200 wineries. Most well-known for its Pinot Noir the region also produces Pinot Gris and Chardonnay. Stay one night in the small town of McMinnville.

Day 4 – Willamette Valley to Lincoln City, approx. 65 miles
Continue your journey through the northern part of the Willamette Valley, before heading to Oregon’s stunning coast. Stay one night in Lincoln City enjoying the broad sandy beaches, local brew-pubs, casual seafood restaurants, galleries and shops.

Day 5 – Lincoln City to Florence, approx. 75 miles
Following the coast road south you can enjoy a lighthouse trail with great views particularly from Yaquina Head Lighthouse and Heceta Head Lighthouse. Don’t miss the Sea Lion Caves just to the north of Florence. Spend two nights in Florence. Why not try a thrilling dune buggy ride across the huge expanse of sand dunes, kayak or fish on the Siuslaw River or shop in the boutiques of Old Town.

Day 7 – Florence to Eugene, approx. 60 miles
Head back inland today to the southern end of the Willamette Valley. On your way there are many wineries to visit, and you can enjoy a great driving tour of the area with its beautiful scenery and covered bridges. Stay two nights in Eugene, where you will find many tasting rooms. Don’t miss the Ninkasi brewery and beer tasting room, before selecting a local restaurant serving local farm produce.

Day 9 – Eugene to Roseburg, approx. 70 miles
Your wine experience will take you south through the Umpqua Valley. This is Oregon’s oldest wine growing region, and you can sample some excellent Voignier, Cabernet Franc and Tempranillo. Spend one night in Roseburg.

Day 10 – Roseburg to Grants Pass, approx. 200 miles
No visit to Oregon would be complete without a visit to Crater Lake National Park, and so today you will drive east to this unique volcanic landscape, perfect for hiking or biking, or just admiring the wonderful views. Continue on to Grants Pass for the next two nights. Spend your days in the Rogue Valley Wine and Farm Region around Grants Pass. Travel
through orchards, vineyards and farm land, producing great wines (Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon amongst others grow well here), fruit and cheese. Enjoy rafting or jet boating on the Rogue River or one of the many festivals that happen
during the summer.

Day 12 – Grants Pass to Portland, approx. 245 miles
Head back to Portland for your final night.

Day 13 – Fly from Portland to the UK
