Head out of the city and across the border into Utah. Enjoy one night in the Zion area, either in the park itself or in Springdale, at the entrance of the park, where you will find a great choice of restaurants and shopping, as well as a selection of hotels. The Bryce Canyon region is great for hiking, horseback riding, photography, ATV riding, camping and other activities. The Canyon itself has been carved by wind and rain and offers some amazing rock formations called Hoodoos. Stay for two nights.

Day 6- Bryce Canyon to Capitol Reef National Park, approx. 135 miles
This park has long been labelled one of Utah's best-kept secrets. It is just as scenic as the other parks, but far less developed and with fewer annual visitors. It offers a myriad of slot canyons which are great for hiking, high Navajo sandstone domes with huge red rock cliffs amazing photo opportunities. Spend one night.

Day 7- Capitol Reef National Park to Moab, approx. 175 miles
This is your base for discovering Arches National Park for the next two nights. Arches is a red rock wonder containing the world's largest concentration of natural arches. A paved road winds through the park allowing easy access to some of the most impressive sites, and hiking trails penetrate more remote areas.

Day 9- Moab to Canyonlands National Park area, approx. 65 miles.
Spend one night in Monticello from where you can experience this rugged and remote area created by the mighty Colorado and Green rivers. The vast majority of the park is accessible via jeep trails, although some areas are accessible only to hikers and backpackers.

Day 10- Canyonlands National Park to Natural Bridges National Monument, approx. 65 miles,
Spend one night in Bluff. Here three natural bridges have been formed by meandering streams slowly cutting through the canyon walls. Day 11- Natural Bridges National Monument to Monument Valley, approx. 65 miles.
Stay one night here (either on the outskirts of the park, or inside the park itself). The unique sandstone formations will be visible from miles away, as you approach the park. Over the years, Monument Valley has been the setting for more Western movies than any other site in the United States. Take a Navajo guided tour deep into the Valley, from the Visitor’s Centre at Gouldings Lodge.

Day 12- Monument Valley to Page, Lake Powell, approx. 110 miles
