showcases 8,000 pieces of art, in the Romanesque former home of a billionaire industrialist.

Days 3 & 4

Start the day at Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library. Winterthur is one of the few surviving great American country estates. Owner Henry Francis du Pont was an avid antiques collector and horticulturalist: his love of American craftmanship led him to assemble one of the world’s most complete collections of antiques and Americana. Winterthur’s 60-acre naturalist garden is a wonder of breath-taking beauty.

This afternoon explore the magnificent Nemours Estate. The Nemours Estate of Alfred I. du Pont is a

47,000 sq. ft. mansion and surrounding formal gardens. It is furnished with fine antiques, famous works of art, beautiful tapestries, and other treasures. The grounds surrounding the mansion extend for one third of a mile along the main vista from the house and are among the finest examples of

French-style gardens in the United States.

This evening experience magnificent Longwood Gardens, truly one of the world’s great public gardens. Longwood combines the best of Italian, French, and English traditions to create one of the

world’s most memorable gardens. Longwood encompasses 1,077 acres, offering 20 outdoor gardens and a breath-taking conservatory. It is home to north America’s most significant fountain collection.

Day 4

Today explore exquisite art at the Brandywine Museum of Art, featuring an unparalleled collection of works by three generations of the famed Wyeth family. The Museum also houses a fine collection of

American illustration, still life and landscapes.

Day 5 - Return to Philadelphia

Return to Philadelphia (approx 30 miles) and drop off your car. Spend the next few days exploring this vibrant city.
