Blackwater Creek Lodge & Guest House - Cody, Wyoming
4 nights
From £XXX per person
Nestled in Shoshone National Forest along the banks of the Shoshone River, Blackwater Creek Ranch sits just 15 miles from Yellowstone National Park's East Entrance - in the very stretch of landscape that Teddy Roosevelt once called "the most scenic 50 miles in the US." One of the oldest ranches on the North Fork of the Shoshone River, it has been welcoming guests from around the world since 1915.
Open June to September with a maximum of 30 guests, the ranch offers three or six night fully inclusive stays covering all meals, activities, and excursions making it an effortless base for exploring Wyoming and beyond.
Accommodation is in historic log cabins built between 1915 and the 1950s, tucked among tall trees with the sound of the river close by. Each cabin has its own bathroom, with larger options available for families or groups. Inside, expect cozy bedding, Navajo rugs, and rustic charm. Guests also have use of an outdoor swimming pool and recreation room.
Dining ranges from cocktail hour and sit-down dinners in the lodge to trail-side packed lunches and open-air cookouts around the campfire. Menus draw on locally inspired dishes and traditional ranch recipes for an authentic taste of Wyoming.
The ranch is a classic dude ranch experience: horse riding through the Wyoming wilderness, hiking, archery, and fly fishing on the Shoshone River and Blackwater Creek. Off-ranch excursions take you into Yellowstone - America's first national park - as well as Shoshone National Forest, America's first national forest, and the nearby cowboy town of Cody.
