Mobile

This historic port city is known as the first capital of the French Louisiana Territory and home of the first American Mardi Gras. Each year the streets of downtown Mobile are filled with the sights and sounds of live marching bands, brilliantly coloured floats and, of course, teeming crowds of parade goers. All year long Mobile features the taste of the coast with fresh delicious seafood from Alabama’s fishing village, Bayou La Batre, depicted in the movie Forrest Gump and located just south of Mobile.
