More Than Just Wine: The Ultimate Guide to Grapevine’s Best Festivals & Events

America As You Like It • 15 October 2026

Discover Grapevine where historic streets, local wine tasting and the unmistakable spirit of the American West come together. Located in Texas between Dallas and Fort Worth, Grapevine offers the perfect base for discovering local culture, enjoying outdoor adventures and exploring the wider region. Wander along Historic Main Street, step into welcoming winery tasting rooms and browse independent boutiques tucked inside characterful historic buildings. Then take your adventure onto Lake Grapevine, where you can paddle along the shoreline, before heading to Fort Worth to watch the famous Stockyards cattle drive and experience Texas’s Western heritage. Plan your holiday around a lively wine festival, a summer day on the water or Grapevine’s spectacular Christmas celebrations. However you choose to explore, you will find plenty of ways to experience the character of this Texan town.

Main Street Fest

From 14 to 16 May 2027, join the celebrations as Main Street Fest fills Historic Main Street with live music, craft beer, food and local shopping. Follow the music between three stages, sample tempting dishes from festival stalls and discover new favourites at the Craft Brew Experience in Liberty Park Plaza. When you fancy a break from the entertainment, explore the independent businesses that give the historic district its character. Browse GRACE+EMMA for clothing and gifts, or pick up jewellery, home décor and Texan treats from small businesses at Grapevine’s Market on Main.

Make time for a taste of local wine, too. Step into Landon Winery or Messina Hof Grapevine Winery and sample wines produced in Texas, adding a tasting-room stop to your festival experience. With music in the streets, tempting food and plenty of shops to explore, Main Street Fest lets you experience Grapevine at its most sociable. Arrive before 5 pm on Friday to take advantage of complimentary entry, then spend the rest of the evening discovering the festivities.

Spring Wine Trail

On 10 April 2027, explore Grapevine glass by glass during the Spring Wine Trail. This self-guided experience takes you between participating winery tasting rooms along and around Historic Main Street, giving you the freedom to discover new-release wines, choose your favourites and enjoy each stop at your own pace. Start at Peace Plaza beside Grapevine Main Station for the Blessing of the Vines and procession, then set off to explore the town’s wine scene.

Previous trails have featured Bingham Family Vineyards, Grape Vine Springs Winery, Landon Winery and Messina Hof Grapevine Winery. Check the confirmed 2027 line-up before setting out, then leave plenty of time to enjoy the tastings rather than rushing from one venue to the next. Between stops, browse Good Things for All Seasons for seasonal gifts or visit Grapevine Olive Oil Company to discover speciality oils and tempting food finds.

Turn your tastings into a leisurely day out by stopping for lunch or dinner at a nearby restaurant. With shops, tasting rooms and places to eat close together, you can explore at your own pace and enjoy the town along the way. Unlike Main Street Fest, which combines live music, craft beer and a wider programme of entertainment, the Spring Wine Trail puts wine discovery centre stage, a great choice if you would rather spend your day sampling local wines and uncovering Grapevine’s independent businesses.

GrapeFest

From 16 to 19 September 2027, raise a glass to GrapeFest, Grapevine’s major annual wine festival. Over four days, the town celebrates its wine connections with tastings, lively competitions and entertainment. Head to the People’s Choice Wine Tasting Classic to sample a selection of wines and vote for your favourites, then swap your tasting glass for some competitive fun at the GrapeStomp. Here, two-person teams crush grapes underfoot as they compete for a place in the Grand Championship StompOff.

Keep an eye out for the Champagne Cork Shoot Off, too, where the action adds another playful twist to the celebrations. Between competitions, explore the festival’s wine offerings and soak up the atmosphere as Historic Main Street fills with activity. There is plenty to enjoy whether you want to discover new wines, watch the competitions or simply spend time among the festivities.

If you want wine to be a highlight of your Texas holiday, GrapeFest offers a very different experience from the Spring Wine Trail. Rather than wandering between individual tasting rooms, you can enjoy a large-scale celebration where wine, entertainment and friendly competition come together. Plan to visit on Thursday for complimentary entry.

Summer Events

Swap the historic streets for open water and discover a different side of Grapevine on Lake Grapevine. From June to August, head to Meadowmere Park, where DFW Surf offers paddleboard and kayak rentals. Glide along the shoreline on a paddleboard for a peaceful solo outing, or climb into a two-person kayak and explore the lake together. Allow time to enjoy the water before returning to Historic Main Street for lunch, independent shopping and a relaxed afternoon among the historic buildings. It is an easy way to combine outdoor adventure with the town’s character in a single day.

When the Texas summer heat calls for an indoor escape, head to Grapevine Mills and discover Meow Wolf’s The Real Unreal. Step into an imaginative world of immersive art, unusual spaces and unexpected installations that invite you to explore beyond a conventional gallery. Take your time as you move through the attraction, uncovering creative details along the way, then browse the shopping centre before heading back into town.

If you are travelling around 4 July, add Independence Day celebrations to your plans. Look out for local events and fireworks, checking Grapevine’s official events calendar for confirmed locations and timings. With time on the lake, immersive art and shopping all on offer, you can mix outdoor adventures with cool, indoor escapes and create summer days that suit your interests.

Planning Your Grapevine Festival Experience

Experience Grapevine at its most festive between November and early January, when the town earns its reputation as the Christmas Capital of Texas. Explore Historic Main Street beneath seasonal displays, browse for Christmas gifts and enjoy the parades and holiday events that bring the streets to life. As evening falls, take in the festive atmosphere and make time for a special seasonal experience. For a memorable addition to your holiday, why not ride Santa’s North Pole Express, which departs from the Cotton Belt Railroad Historic District on selected dates.

Choose accommodation near Historic Main Street if you want to explore Grapevine’s tasting rooms, independent shops and restaurants on foot. From Grapevine Main Station, TEXRail connects the town with Dallas Fort Worth International Airport and Downtown Fort Worth, giving you another way to explore North Texas without relying on a car for every journey.

Make room in your itinerary for Fort Worth’s Stockyards, where you can watch the cattle drive along East Exchange Avenue and discover the city’s Western heritage. Explore the historic district before heading to Billy Bob’s Texas, known as the world’s largest honky-tonk, for live country music and a taste of Texas nightlife.

Back in Grapevine, stop at Harvest Hall near Grapevine Main Station to choose from a range of food options before an evening out or a day exploring further afield. By staying close to Historic Main Street and planning around the experiences that interest you most, you can combine Grapevine’s wine culture and historic charm with the wider attractions of North Texas.

Whether you are sampling local wines, joining the excitement of GrapeFest, paddling across Lake Grapevine or experiencing the festive magic of Christmas, make Grapevine part of your Texas holiday. Explore the historic streets, discover the town’s wine scene and venture beyond its borders for a taste of the American West. With so many ways to shape your stay, Grapevine offers a memorable blend of small-town character and classic Texan experiences.
