Day 1 - Fly from the UK to Mobile, AL. 

The historic port city of Mobile is located on Mobile Bay and offers a mix of coastal scenery and Southern charm. Mobile is recognised as the birthplace of Mardi Gras in the United States, with celebrations held each year, and the city’s Carnival history can be explored at the Mobile Carnival Museum. The downtown area is home to the LoDa Entertainment District, which features a wide range of restaurants, bars and live music venues. Battleship Memorial Park is one of the city’s top attractions and is home to the USS Alabama, along with aircraft and military exhibits. The city also features many well-preserved historic buildings, museums and waterfront areas that highlight Mobile’s maritime, cultural and architectural heritage.

Day 3 - Mobile to Biloxi, MS, approx. 1hr 15mins. 

A short journey from Mobile by AMTRAK brings you to Biloxi, one of the oldest communities in the United States, first settled in 1699. Today, Biloxi is a lively coastal city with a rich cultural mix and a full of events throughout the year. Stroll along the sugar-white sand beaches or take a guided boat tour of the Gulf Coast to enjoy the scenery and spot local wildlife. The city also offers a wealth of historic and cultural attractions, including the Biloxi Lighthouse, the Maritime and Seafood Industry Museum, and several historic homes open to the public. Golf enthusiasts can enjoy championship courses, while food lovers will delight in the city’s renowned seafood restaurants.

Day 5 - Biloxi to Bay St. Louis, MS, approx. 50 minutes. 

Take the AMTRAK to Bay St. Louis, a standout destination on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. This coastal town combines rich history, artistic flair, and warm Southern hospitality. During the day, explore the town’s charming historic district with its colourful shops, and cafés, or stroll along the scenic waterfront. Art lovers can visit local galleries and the weekly arts market, while history enthusiasts may enjoy the Bay St. Louis Historic District and nearby museums such as the Alice Moseley Folk Art Museum. For outdoor activities, go kayaking or simply relax on the nearby beaches. In the evening, enjoy live music at local venues and savour exceptional coastal cuisine at the town’s seafood restaurants.

Day 7 - Bay St. Louis to New Orleans, LA, approx. 1hr 30min. 

Take the AMTRAK New Orleans, Louisiana. New Orleans is a city that truly marches to the beat of its own drum. A visit to the French Quarter Visitor Center, part of the Jean Lafitte National Historical Park, introduces you to the traditions, culture, and history of the area. Rangers lead daily walking tours that bring to life the story of this special place and its strong ties to the Mississippi River. Live music fills the French Quarter every evening. Enjoy live performances at venues such as Maison Bourbon Jazz Club or the House of Blues, and check for scheduled performances at the world-famous Preservation Hall.

Day 9 - Fly from New Orleans back to the UK.
