Sylvan Dale Guest Ranch is an historic working horse and cattle ranch offering year-round outdoor adventure on 3,200 acres of scenic Colorado foothills - just an hour from Denver, and conveniently close to Rocky Mountain National Park and Estes Park.

Nestled along the banks of the Big Thompson River, the ranch is your gateway to discovering the old-fashioned cowboy culture of the American West. Join cattle drives and roundups, trail rides, and overnight pack trips, or sharpen your skills with riding lessons and Gymkhana games on horseback. Trophy trout fly fishing, tennis, swimming, hay rides, western cookouts, and evening entertainment round out the experience - with a supervised youth programme and legendary home baking keeping families coming back year after year.

Food at Sylvan Dale is an experience in itself. They source fresh local produce in season and milk from nearby dairies, and frequently feature their own Heart-J ranch-raised, grass-fed beef. Every morning, the breakfast bell rings out across the crisp mountain air, drawing guests to a delectable spread served in the Roundup Room.

Cabins are clustered in the main yard among flowers, giant cottonwoods, and towering blue spruce, warmly furnished with comfortable country pieces and antique accents. Each has a private bath, air conditioning, small refrigerator, coffee maker, and porch — with queen-sized beds, supplemented by singles in some rooms. Fall asleep to the sound of the Big Thompson River bubbling just outside your door.

The ranch is open June to August for a maximum of 40 guests.
