Myrtle Beach
Plans are afoot for a new cultural arts centre and theatre in downtown Myrtle Beach which will operate in addition to the existing Carolina Opry Theater. A new shopping mall called The District will bring waterfront restaurant and bars as well as additional shops and a new boutique hotel and 2024 sees the opening of South Carolina’s first man-made surf park called Surfworks Myrtle Beach.
There are also plans for lots of new restaurants and breweries in the soon-to-be-revitalised downtown area. Craft beer, spirits, cookout-inspired food, gastrobars and comfort food with a Southern flair will all be on offer.
Myrtle Beach offers an array of events including the Carolina Country Music Fest and college football at the Myrtle Beach Bowl. The Myrtle Beach area, popularly known as the Grand Strand, stretches from Little River to Pawleys Island, comprising 14 distinct cities along the South Carolina coast. Home to 60 miles of sandy beaches, an assortment of entertainment and family attractions, Southern hospitality and world-class golf, the Myrtle Beach area presents the quintessential holiday experience.
